481 new COVID cases reported in Alaska

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The CBJ reported 47 new cases over the weekend in Juneau while the Alaska Department of Health & Social Services reported six new cases on Monday.

    The daily report Monday also listed 157 cases in Anchorage, 110 in Wasilla, 32 in Palmer, 31 in the Bethel Census Area, 26 in Eagle River, 18 in Bethel, 16 in Kenai, 15 in Fairbanks, 13 in Utqiagvik, and seven cases in Sitka.

    The state also reported new cases in Skagway and on Prince of Wales Island.

    The total of resident cases is now 31,323.  The total of nonresident cases is 1,253.

    Juneau remained on high alert status with 22.11 cases per 100,000 in the past week.

    Northern Southeast also remained at high alert with 26.19 cases per 100,000.

    Southern Southeast Alaska was at intermediate alert with 7.88 cases per 100,000.

    The state also reported three new hospitalizations bringing that total to 149 hospital patients with the virus.

    The average percentage of daily positive tests for the previous week is 6.39%.
