Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - An annual study conducted by WalletHub ranks the hardest working cities in America and ranked Anchorage, Alaska number one for the second year in a row.
The study considers 11 factors such as hours worked, the average leisure time per day, how many people work more than one job, and the number of vacation days that went unused.
The other top ten cities include Cheyenne, Wyoming, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Irving, Texas, San Francisco, Austin, Texas, Norfolk, Virginia, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Denver, Colorado.
Of the 116 cities included in the study, Detroit came in last followed by Burlington, Vermont, Buffalo, New York, Newark, New Jersey, and Cleveland, Ohio.
According to the latest statistics, the average American works 1,779 hours a year. That's 109 more than Canada, 135 more than Japan, and 241 more than the United Kingdom. Mexico ranked number one at 2,137 hours a year.
