Spring Tide Scramble, Cameron Clark Race Results

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Hunter Mallinger, 31, Ryan Aguilar, 45, and Randy Peterson, 36, had a ‘scramble’ to the finish in the recent Spring Tide Scramble and Brian McTague, 55, and Jim Ustasiewski, 58, led the charge in the Cameron Clark races last week.

      Mallinger finished the seven-mile course of the Spring Tide Scramble in 1:13:49 with Aguilar hitting 1:17:40 and Peterson 1:18:33. Top female was Christy Gentleman in 1:27:17.

      Top male three-mile time went to Paul Butera, 25, in 32:59 and 14-year-old Finnegan Lamb was on his heels in 35:57.

      Top female three-mile time was Cindy Tuckwood, 55,  in 41:38 with Alexandra Reich, 28, and Kelsie Shields, 23, giving chase at 42:22 and  42:52, respectively.

    Youth was represented well as James Dorn, 7, hit a three-mile time of 1:21:36, edging the elder Justin Dorn, 39, who finished in 1:21:38. Tristan Day, 10, finished the course in 50 minutes and Oscar Lamb, 10, in 54:17.

    Spring Tide Scramble Results

      The top 1K runner in the Cameron Clark race was Brian McTague, 55, in 4:50. Brook Taintor, 11, was top female and second overall in 5:23.

      Nine racers under 10 years of age ran the course with Carly Cummins, 6, placing seventh overall in 7:10. Other youngsters included Carly Cummins, 6, Cora Morris, 8, Tyler Anderson, 9, Jet Davis, 6, Aurora Mason, 4, Isla Tainter, 4, Rowan Tainter, 9, Dominic Davis, 3, and Orion Davis, 1.

      Jim Ustasiewski, 58, was top male and overall winner in the 5K portion of the race and  Sylvi Thorstenson, 30, was top female and second overall in 21:27.
